The reason for the line bias was that the putters were often bent to a stronger loft to take advantage of the grooves. This opens the putter.

Lefty here, and my Tracy II has no alignment aid at all. After shelving it years ago and trying all sorts of shapes and configurations, it’s back in the bag.

Like you, Keith, I’ve come to realize I’m a face-led aimer. I’m most comfortable not when I see a line (or lines) pointing toward my intended start line, but when the face simply looks perpendicular to it — similar to the rest of the clubs in my bag.

I’m starting to wonder if any visual “noise” behind the face is really just a distraction to my eye, including onset.

I greatly appreciate all the great content you and Bruce have provided. I either need to get on a PuttLab or make the trip out to Indiana to figure out which profile I am and really dial in what works best for me.

Cheers!

Thanks - I love testing, experimenting and writing about what I find. I'm glad you've found some of it helpful.
