What is The Club House?
The Club House will be home to all of my independent club reviews, as well as my thoughts on all things golf-related. I am a retired, low-handicap golfer living in St Andrews and play a combination of links golf on the town courses and heathland golf at The Duke’s, where I am also a member.
One of my particular passions is putting, and many of the reviews will be of putters. Given the obvious lack of physical limitations, putting is one part of the game where we amateur golfers can aspire to be as good as the professionals. I also simply love trying and testing putters, and hopefully, you will enjoy reading the reviews as much as I enjoy writing them.
The clubs used in my reviews will either be demo clubs that I have borrowed or clubs that I have purchased myself. Whilst I am not affiliated with any equipment manufacturers, Auchterlonies have been an invaluable source of demo clubs, and I am very grateful to them for their support, most especially Adam Legg. Their second-hand shop, along with GolfClubs4Cash and eBay, have all been useful sources of review clubs too.
I will also be reviewing lessons and training sessions. Hopefully, my improvement journey and experiences will also be helpful to readers. Finally, there will be some general interest posts about anything and everything related to golf. A bit like having a chat in the clubhouse after your round.
