You mentioned far too many clubs and options for me and I'm out of touch :-) Its good with the 3h but I'd say go back to the old 5i and focus on getting the 4h sorted, looking at the 4&5 in a oner doesn't to be a one thing fits all.

I'd throw the wind out of the equation, I've said for many years to us choppers if it's that windy it's doing you and your swing no good, accept playing well in the wind but ignore the bad.

Thanks Andy, the post was sent in error as I migrate to Substack, but that's exactly what I did. Got a 5i in the same head as my other irons but a slightly lighter version of the same shaft. It went in the bag before the end of the season and has been very good. The 4h will be an early spring decision but likely to be the Srixon for links golf and keep the hybrid for parkland.

For me, this question depends on the conditions and the course you are playing. I think for most higher skilled golfers like you (and I'll include myself in that) it's good to have a choice in this slot. I have a 3 Utility (Ping iCrossover) and a Hybrid (long serving Adams Idea Pro / G440 Hybrid). The Utility is better if it's windy or on firm running links, and the hybrid it better for me if I need to hit the ball higher with more spin, or need a softer landing. For me I change what's in the bag on where I'm playing and the conditions expected.
